Jazz Arts Society of
Indiana, Inc. 501(c)3
The Jazz Arts Society of Indiana, Inc. is
one of Indiana's newest and best not-for-profit arts organizations.
The organization was formed in 2001 with one main goal in
mind: to preserve and advance the appreciation of big band
jazz music throughout the state of Indiana by providing opportunities
for entertainment and education to general audiences, musicians,
educators, students, and other live music enthusiasts. This
is achieved primarily by the presentation of world-class big
band jazz featuring the Indianapolis Jazz Orchestra.
Established in 1997, the IJO has achieved
its present status through the dedication and commitment of
its members in their pursuit of excellence in the performance
of jazz and popular music. Using the Indianapolis Jazz Orchestra
as our primary musical ambassadors, this society will aid
many other organizations, businesses, and educational institutions
throughout the state in bringing the art of jazz to a wider
and more diverse audience. The melding of these two entities
creates Indiana's first organization dedicated to the performance,
advancement, and preservation of big band jazz.
The Indianapolis Jazz Orchestra and The Jazz
Arts Society of Indiana welcome financial support from lovers
of big band jazz music. You may rest assured that any charitable
